Frying Pan Granola

GET EXCITED :) I have a delicious and nutritious breakfast idea for you to try! If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to switch up your morning routine, you’ve got to give this frying pan granola a go! It’s not only so tasty but it’s also packed with protein and essential nutrients to start your day right.

Why oats in the morning?

Oats are a versatile and wholesome grain that provides sustained energy throughout the day. By scrambling them in a frying pan, you get a deliciously crunchy and golden-brown breakfast that pairs wonderfully with yogurt or cottage cheese, adding an extra boost of protein. It’s a fantastic way to break away from the traditional oatmeal and enjoy something a little different.

Ingredients

This recipe serves one and requires just a few simple ingredients:

• 1 ripe banana

• 1/2 cup oats

• 1/2 tsp cinnamon

• Splash of vanilla extract

• 1 egg

Toppings

You can customize your scrambled oats with your favorite toppings. Here are some suggestions:

  • Yogurt or cottage cheese

  • Berries

  • Peanut butter or nut butter of choice

  • Drizzle of honey

Instructions

  1. Mash and Mix: Start by mashing the ripe banana in a bowl. Add the oats, egg, cinnamon, and a splash of vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

  2. Cook: Spray a frying pan with a little oil and heat it over medium heat. Add the oat mixture to the pan, flattening and spreading it out with a spoon. Cook for 3-4 minutes until it starts to set.

  3. Scramble: Using a spatula, break up the mixture and scramble it. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until it becomes golden brown and slightly crispy.

  4. Serve: Transfer the scrambled oats to a plate and top with your chosen toppings. The combination of creamy yogurt or cottage cheese, fresh berries, nut butter, and a drizzle of honey creates a balanced and delicious breakfast. Enjoy!

This simple yet satisfying breakfast is perfect for those busy mornings when you need something quick and nutritious. Not only is it easy to make, but it’s also a great way to incorporate more whole foods into your diet.
